Calabria IGP "Il Rosso"-  A Vita

The "Rosso" by A'Vita is a red wine that comes from Gaglioppo grapes, a typical Calabrian grape variety. coming from old vineyards grown organically and "kissed" by the sea. The harvest takes place manually in September, with careful sorting of the bunches, and the winemaking is spontaneous in steel tanks, long refinement of 30 months in the same tanks. Cirò Classico has a ruby ​​red color with nuances that tend to garnet. The nose expresses aromas of red fruit, such as raspberries, strawberries and rose petals, spicy notes are recognized. In the mouth it is warm, enveloping with fine and complex tannins, good flavor and with a pleasant finish.

Service

We enjoy it at a temperature of 16/18 ° in tulipes. Wine to drink immediately but leave a few years in the cellar can give great emotions.

Cellar: A Vita

Behind the name Life is Francesco Maria De Franco and his wife Laura Violino. Francesco after graduating in Architecture, he soon realizes that life behind a desk is not for him. He goes to the faculty of oenology at Conegliano, and after graduating he goes back to his beloved Calabria, with the idea of ​​returning to the ground and enhancing the Gaglioppo, which has often been bruised with caricature versions. Francesco takes care of the old family vineyards, which are in an ideal position, kissed by the sea breeze, being close to the sea, and located on clay soils. It cultivated its 8 hectares of vineyard in a biological way, with non-invasive practices and with great respect for nature. In the cellar the interventions are minimized, the fermentations are spontaneous, the indigenous yeasts, the aging times of the wines are long, and no filtration is carried out before bottling. The first wine came out in 2008 and had an immediate success, a success that does not stop.
