Langhe Nebbiolo DOC - Cristina Prandi
A Nebbiolo hailing from the Bricco Cogni *Cru* in La Morra, crafted from a selection of the finest grapes. It is a wine that embodies the character of the terroir and the history of a family deeply rooted in viticulture. The grapes undergo skin-contact fermentation in concrete tanks, followed by aging in large casks to preserve elegance, depth, and finesse. This label is a special tribute to the Prandi family’s winemaking heritage and to Uncle Giuseppe—a pivotal figure in Cristina’s journey and her development as a winemaker. On the nose, it is deep and aromatic, offering elegant hints of Marasca cherry and delicate spicy notes. On the palate, it is round, juicy, and harmonious, showcasing a beautiful expression of Nebbiolo and a persistent finish. An authentic, personal wine born from the meeting of family tradition, the local terroir, and the new generation.
Service
It serves at 16/18° temperature in tulip glasses. Daily wine but left a few years in the cellar can give great emotions.
Pairing
It combines perfectly with pasta dishes of the Italian tradition as pasta with tomato sauce or meat sauce, excellent with a truffle omelette.
The winery: Cristina Prandi
Born in 1998, Cristina Marello Prandi represents a new generation of winemakers, bringing with her a family history deeply rooted in Barolo. The Prandi family has been linked to wine since 1864, when her great-great-grandfather Teobaldo founded the historic winery in Piazza Cabutto, in the heart of Barolo. After generations dedicated to viticulture, this legacy of vineyards and expertise has passed to Cristina thanks to her uncle Giuseppe—an oenologist—who instilled in her a respect for the land, a meticulous approach to the vineyard, and the ability to listen to and interpret the Nebbiolo grape. Cristina did not simply inherit a business; she chose to build her own. With determination and energy, she launched a personal project, reviving the family tradition and transforming it into a new vision. Her journey began with the 2019 Langhe Nebbiolo, produced from estate-owned vineyards in Paiagallo (Barolo) and Bricco Cogni (La Morra). It is a Nebbiolo that expresses character, depth, and a strong bond with the territory. In the meantime, Cristina purchased a small farmhouse in La Morra, destined to become the project's new winery. It is a young venture, yet one with deep roots: the Prandi story continues through Cristina’s vision and personality.
