Campo di Mandrie - Giovanni Iannucci
Campo di Mandrie is a white wine obtained from the purification of Falanghina grapes. The grapes come from biodynamic vineyards situated on soils composed of clayey and calcareous marls. The harvest is manual, and in the cellar the fermentation is spontaneous with only indigenous yeasts with maceration of about 2 days. The refinement continues for twelve months on the fine lees, partly in cement vats and on the other hand the French oak tonneaux. Straw yellow color tending to gold. Intense aromatic aromas on the nose with notes of exotic fruits, ripe fruit, and hints of flint. In the mouth it is fresh, medium-bodied sapid with very good persistence.
Service
We taste the Falanghina Field of Mandrie at a temperature of 8/10 ° in tulip goblets. Wine to drink immediately but leave a few years in the cellar can give great emotions.
Pairings
Ideal as an aperitif, with first fish-based dishes and vegetables, to be tried with an abuzzed mullet.
Cellar: Giovanni Iannucci
The company of Giovanni Iannucci is located in Guardia Sanframondi, a small village of Sannio beneventano famous throughout Italy for its fine wines. John, after a parenthesis in the city, decides to go home because it is too loud the call to land that has accompanied all the years of his youth. Joy, passed between the vineyards and making good wine, the great passion of his family. Giovanni Iannucci decides to relaunch this activity and to make it a real trade, to get the wine that is exciting and reflects the traditions of the past. He chooses to focus only on two native varieties of Sannio, Falanghina and Barbera del Sannio, cultivated with cultivation methods that combine new techniques of processing with the wisdom of the past. Chemical fertilizers, herbicides and synthetic treatments have been abolished in the vineyard, where necessary, and small quantities of copper and sulfur are used to protect plants. In the cellar the vinification is spontaneous, no use of selected yeasts or oenological products and low sulfur doses. The wines of Giovanni Iannucci carry the signs of the seasons they gave them, and they speak a single language year after year.
