Pinot gris "Le Petit Prince" - Azienda Agricola Le Vieux Joseph
A savory and mineral Pinot gris from Valle d'Aosta obtained from grapes that come from old vines growing in the mountain ridge on soils rich in glacial deposits. a wine dedicated to his son Giulio, the true and only little prince in Ilaria's life, as she herself loves to underline. Manual harvest and spontaneous vinification in steel tanks with 12 months aging on the fine lees in the same containers. No filtration before bottling. The Petite Prince has a straw yellow color. On the nose intense aromas rich in fruit, floral and nimeral notes. The mouth is silky, tidy, with convincing juiciness and frankness. The lock is winy and generous. The beauty of this bottle, as well as the content, also lies in the cloth label that recalls the famous book: but it is also and above all a wine dedicated to the son Giulio, the true and only little prince in the life of Ilaria, as she herself he loves to stress.

Winery: Azienda Agricola Le Vieux Joseph
The farm Le vieux Joseph is located in Aosta and is born from the personal passion of the owner, Ilaria Bavastro, for the vineyards and wine. After finishing his classical studies, Ilaria decides, absolutely unpublished in his family, in fact there are no farmers among his ancestors, to try to make wine. The love for wine dates back to the university when to support it had found employment in a cooperative that followed some winemakers. Having experience in several companies in Piedmont, Switzerland and Valle d'Aosta, he rented 2 hectares of old vineyards on the mountain ridge still supported by wooden poles, partly on the hill of Aosta, partly in Chétoz, between Quart and Nus. His work is hard, leaving the marks on the body, but, when it is in the midst of nature, with the earth beneath the feet and the sky above the head, it repays every effort. Vineyards of Pinot Gris, Muscat in Petit Grain, Cornalin, Vien de Nus and Pinot Noir that are treated in a natural way, with all the processes that are done manually, without the aid of machinery, the treatments are given with the atomizer in shoulder, only by force on the will and love for the earth. In the cellar, Ilaria vinifies in a simple and natural way, without ever forcing time or using oenological products. Use minimum quantities of sulphites, however, much lower than the limits allowed by law. After an aging of at least twelve months, sometimes eighteen, the wines are ready. Today Ilaria produces three different wines: a white, Le Petit Prince made from Pinot Gris grapes with a small percentage of Muscat Petit Grain, the Mariadzo which is an assemblage of Cornalin, Vien de Nus and Pinot Noir, and the Clos de Cartésan is a cru of older vines. Each wine is represented by beautiful labels, and is an expression of the Valle d'Aosta territory. A curiosity: the company bears the name of Ilaria's grandfather, Le Vieux Joseph.
