Pinot Noir Nature Metodo Classico- Chiara Torti
Chiara Torti's Pinot Noir Nature Metodo Classicoe is a highly elegant wine, crafted from a careful selection of the finest Pinot Noir grapes from the Montecalvo Versiggia vineyard, located 360 meters above sea level on silty-clay soils. Planted using the classic Guyot system in 2007, the vineyard offers a controlled yield of 6.5 tons per hectare, while the harvest is done manually in August to ensure the highest quality grapes. After fermentation and secondary fermentation, the wine ages on the lees for 36 months, developing complexity, structure, and a fine, persistent perlage. In the glass, it displays a luminous straw yellow color with greenish highlights, while on the nose it releases elegant aromas of white flowers and delicate fruit, inviting sips. On the palate, it is dry, full, and persistent, with a balanced freshness and a harmonious structure that makes it extremely versatile. Perfect with fish, delicate meats, fresh cheeses and refined dishes, it is a wine that combines refinement, finesse and character, also ideal for special and convivial moments.
Service
We taste it at a temperature of 8/10° in ballon flute. Wine to drink immediately but will express its best in a few years.
Pairing
Excellent wine to pair with fish starters, first courses with vegetables, second courses with white meats.
Winery: Azienda Agricola di Pietro Torti di Alessandro Torti
Pietro Torti winery is named after Chiara’s father, from whom she inherited it in 1990. We are in Montecalvo Versiggia, on the hills of Oltrepò Pavese — a place where vines have been grown for centuries, and where every row tells a story of time, work, and patience. The Oltrepò Pavese is Italy’s third-largest certified wine-producing area and the country’s leading region for Pinot Noir, accounting for around 75% of national production. It is also one of the world’s most important areas for sparkling wine production. Here, the estate cultivates 10 hectares of organically farmed vineyards, combining young vines with parcels over 40 years old, rooted in clay-rich soils that give depth and character to the wines. Croatina, Barbera, Pinot Noir, and Riesling are their voice — their way of expressing this land. With minimal intervention, respect for natural rhythms, short pruning, and natural cover crops, the estate allows the territory to speak directly through the glass. The result is intense whites and deep reds — wines that unite identity, elegance, and ageing potential. Because wine, above all, is memory, family, and a sense of belonging.
