"Funky" evokes the winery's experimental approach to the winemaking of this ancient Lazio grape variety. Manual harvesting in small crates is followed by vinification using two distinct methods: half the grapes are pressed directly, and the other half macerate on the skins for 24 hours before pressing. The wine matures for eight months in stainless steel. Bottling follows, followed by eight months of bottle aging before release. This experimental wine demonstrates how double vinification and the longevity of the vines can lend structural complexity and territorial depth to this Lazio white wine, both ancient and modern in character.

So welcome to the newest addition to La Distesa. NovantaNove, like a wine Corrado Dettori made about fifteen years ago but then stopped making. Inspired by Mediterranean oxidatives, a 2015-based perpetual, not overly meditative, but instead designed to accompany aperitifs and tapas, raw fish, and seafood pasta dishes. Cheers.

When tasted, "Ambras" offers an enveloping sensory experience, with notes of ripe fruit, citrus and a light sweetness of honey, balanced by a lively acidity and a flavor that recalls the sea. Tacabanda di Poggio Cagnano is a white wine with great character, the result of careful work in the vineyard and in the cellar. The choice to use Ansonica grapes, a native vine, allows us to best express the unique terroir of the area. The short maceration of two days allows us to delicately extract aromas and polyphenolic components, without compromising the typical freshness of the grapes. The aging in steel and cement for 10 months adds complexity and structure, allowing the wine to develop a fine and structured aromatic profile. The result is an elegant white, ideal for accompanying fish dishes, appetizers and light dishes, but which can also be enjoyed on its own, to fully enjoy its freshness and flavor.

“Oran-go” of Santa Colomba is not one of those caricatured “orange wines”, with a troubled and impertinent hand, which show a desire for showiness but lack of formal expertise. This garganega vinified in red is born on the Berici Hills and macerates for ten days in cool steel, before refining part in tanks and part in wood. The result is rewarding: a wine with a veiled golden color, which winds between spices and incense, violet and oriental notes. Its floral timbre is found in the mouth, with a chewable but fine and sweet air. Such elegant executions are rare when it comes to “orange” wines!
