Fuorizona 2022 - Davide Gaggiola
Fuorizona by Davide Gaggiola is a white wine obtained from Istrian Malvasia grapes that come from a hectare of vineyard located between Zugliano and Vipolze (Goriska Brda) where there are plants with an average age of 60 years. Manual harvest of the grapes, and spontaneous fermentation in the cellar with maceration on the skins of variable duration based on the characteristics of the grapes and the vintage (on average about 4-6 days). Cellar: Davide Gaggiola
Davide Gaggiola is a passionate farmer and winemaker with a long-standing dedication to the art of agriculture and winemaking. From a young age, his passion for the land has accompanied him, leading him to study Agricultural Sciences and to collaborate as a consultant with various wine producers both in Italy and abroad, thus refining his skills and his vision. In 2021, Davide began a new adventure at Villa Job, a splendid estate on the outskirts of Udine, adopting a natural approach to viticulture, which translates into work between the vineyard and the cellar. His attention is also focused on personal production, with a project dedicated to Malvasia Istriana, a grape variety that represents the heart of his passion and his method. His vineyards, sixty years old and less than one hectare in size, are located between Zugliano and Vipolže, in Slovenia. From these vineyards, around 2000 bottles are born each year, which are carefully refined in cement containers and old oak barrels, to obtain authentic and unique wines, expression of a work that respects nature and traditions. Davide Gaggiola's project is a small great example of how passion, respect for the land and tradition can come together to create authentic and quality wines, telling stories of a unique terroir and a genuine commitment to sustainable agriculture.
