Navaherreros Blanco - Bodegas  Bernabeleva

Navaherreros Blanco is a white wine that is produced with autochthonous grapes such as Albillo and Macabeo which come from old vines between the ages of 25 and 80 years. The grapes are harvested manually, crushed in whole bunches and fermented spontaneously in used barrels where aging continues. The wine is not filtered or stabilized before being bottled. The Navaherreros Blanco is bright straw yellow in color. On the nose there are evident aromas of ripe yellow fleshed fruits, mineral, citrus and herbaceous notes. On the palate it is complex, balanced, fruity and fresh, with a long finish.

Service

We taste it at a temperature around 10/12 ° C. Wine to drink immediately but if left a few years in the cellar can give great satisfaction.

Pairing

Ideal to accompany risottos, fish dishes, seafood, to try with a plate of semi-mature cheeses.

Cellar: Bernabeleva

Bernabeleva literally means the way of the bear, just because in the woods of the area you can find ancient granite sculptures that depict bears. Its history began in 1923, when Dr. Vicente Álvarez-Villamil bought the "Bernabeleva" farm, in San Martín de Valdeiglesias, in the Madrid region, at the foot of Cerro de Guisando. The village of San Martín de Valdeiglesias was founded in the 13th century by the monks of the Cirrus monastery. At the time, 35 hectares of vineyards were planted with varieties such as the Garnacha, the Albillo and the Moscatel. For two generations the azeinda was abandoned until in 2006 the grandchildren of Dr. Vicente Álvarez-Villamil decided to revive the company by calling Raul-Perez, one of the most famous winemakers in Spain. Today Bernabeleva works the vineyards with respect and in balance with nature, the treatments are carried out only if necessary with sulfur and copper powder, and all the works follow the lunar cycles. In the cellar it tries to maintain the virtues of the raw material that the vineyard offers. Vintify the grapes of each plot separately in wooden barrels of different capacity, the macerations are superior to 30 days in all the reds, before passing the wines in barrels of French oak of different volumes, where the time each of them needs remains. The wines of Bernabeleva express all the characteristics of the environment in which they are located.
