Service
We recommend to taste it at a temperature of 6/8 ° in tulip glasses. Wine to be drunk immediately but left in the cellar for a few years can give great emotions.
Pairing
Excellent wine that goes well with fish starters, pasta dishes, fish main courses, to try with grilled swordfish slices.
Winery: Geschickt
Geschickt is a family of winemakers from Ammerschwihr, in the heart of Alsace, managed by the third and fourth generation, namely Frédéric and his young nephew Arnaud and his partner Aurélie, who have been in the company for a few years; Arnaud's grandparents managed a few hectares in Ammerschwihr since the early twentieth century, that of 1955 was the first vintage bottled by Domaine Geschickt. Since 1998 they decide to convert the 12 hectares of property first to organic regime and immediately after they work and are certified for biodynamics. Since the 2014 vintage they have managed to come out with all their completely natural wines, that is unfiltered and without the addition of sulphites, the result of a journey that started from the vineyard and obtained after years of experimentation in the cellar. A fundamental feature of the company is the desire to always complete all fermentations (including malolactic fermentation): we will therefore have dry, direct wines, with natural and uncontrolled acidity, from ripe and therefore also loaded grapes. Certainly an expression of Alsace and its varieties that are not at all fashionable. The most famous Cru of Ammerschwihr is the Grand Cru Kaefferkopf, where all the strength of the calcareous soil gives its best from the vineyards of Riesling and Gewurztraminer, the two Alsatian kings. The company produces excellent Pinot blanc, Riesling, Gewurztraminer, Pinot noir, in addition to the classic Cremant d'Alsace sparkling wine, made with Pinot blanc and Chardonnay.
