Cellar: Jean-Louis et Eric Kamm
Jean-Louis et Eric Kamm, are two small Alsatian artisan winemakers located in Dambach-la-Ville, a medieval town at the foot of the Vosges, 20 kilometers north of Colmar. Historical company of the area, which has been handed down from father to son for several generations. The parents start with organic processing in the vineyard, and when the hand passes to Jean-Louis and Eric, the latter decide to work without the use of sulfur dioxide, without herbicides, synthetic products or chemical fertilizers in respect of the earth and the environment. Seven hectares of vineyards divided into several parcels, which are located on average at 500 m.s.l.m. on soils of granite origin. In the vineyard the most rooted varieties are cultivated in the region, with Pinot Gris, Riesling, Auxerrois, Moscato, Gewurztraminer and above all Pinot Noir. In their ancestral cellar fermentations take place only with the use of natural yeasts present on the skin of the berries, without any control temperature, in stainless steel containers or in cement tanks. The wines of Jean-Louis and Eric are recognized for their quality, richness, typicality and minerality of this region.
