Ligreza - Ca 'dei Quattro Archi
The ligreza is a wonderful orange wine made from white grapes in purity. The grapes come from vineyards with an average age of 30 years that rest on calcareous clay soils. The grapes are harvested manually when fully ripe, and in the cellar, the bunch is only destemmed and not pressed in order to leave the whole grape. It follows a long maceration of 20 days and a spontaneous fermentation without a pied de cuve and without any temperature control. After drawing off the Ligreza refines on its fine lees for several months in steel tanks. No filtration before bottling. The Ligreza gives us a bright golden yellow color. On the nose emerge hints of ripe yellow fruits, notes of exotic fruits and aromatic herbs. On the palate it is well structured, well balanced, with vibrant freshness and an excellent finish.
Service
We taste it at a temperature of 10/12 ° in tulip glasses. Wine to be drunk immediately but left a few years in the cellar can give great emotions.
Pairings
Ideal as an aperitif, with pasta dishes based on fish and vegetables, to try with a stewed monkfish.
Cellar: Ca 'dei Quattro Archi
The Ca 'dei Quattro Archi winery is a small family-run business located in Imola, in the province of Bologna. It was founded in 2000 by Rita Golinelli and Mauro Mazza, who, driven by the call of wine, decided to leave their respective professions and manage the old vineyards of Rita's father, located in the hills of Imola. The choice of Rita and Mauro is to lead the vineyards in an organic way and to make wines with a traditional and very traditional approach. The cultivated hectares are about 6 hectares, divided into two different parcels: one next to the company headquarters which rests on a land composed of sand, while the second is located around the Casalfiumanese area, along the Rio Mescola, where the land is clayey and rich in limestone. In the vineyard we find mainly traditional vines such as Albana, Malvasia, Trebbiano Romagnolo, Sangiovese, but also Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The work in the vineyard is very careful and rigorous, without any use of chemicals, but only respect for the cycles of nature. In the cellar, the interventions are not invasive, without pressing the grapes, all the grapes are macerated for a variable time depending on the type, fermentations occur spontaneously without pied de cuve and without temperature control, refinement on the fine lees, and no filtrations before bottling. The wines of Ca 'dei Quattro Archi are identity, and they are aware of the terroir they come from.
