Susucaru Bianco - Frank Cornelissen
Susucaru Bianco represents the most accessible expression of Frank Cornelissen’s white wines, crafted from historic vineyards on the northern slopes of Mount Etna. It is a blend of indigenous Sicilian varieties—led by Catarratto, Carricante, and Grecanico—grown in ancient volcanic soils that lend the wine a unique character. The production philosophy follows a minimalist approach that respects the raw material: spontaneous fermentation, gentle handling, and minimal human intervention allow the character of the terroir and the vintage to shine through authentically. In the glass, it stands out for its energy and depth; aromas of ripe citrus and yellow-fleshed fruit, along with hints of Mediterranean herbs, intertwine with the distinct mineral and savory notes typical of Etna’s volcanic soils. The palate is dynamic, vibrant, and beautifully balanced, successfully combining freshness, structure, and great drinkability. This is a white wine with a strong sense of place—versatile at the table and a true reflection of the artisanal, natural vision that defines Frank Cornelissen’s wines.

Cellar: Frank Cornelissen
The cellar of Frank Cornelissen is located in Solicchiata, on the north side of Mount Etna. Frank, of Belgian origin and exuberant and dynamic character who has always fallen in love with wine years ago to leave his land to come to Sicily and produce wine. Frank's philosophy of vine cultivation is that man is not able to fully understand Nature in its entirety, its delicate internal equilibrium, and therefore, any intervention is intended to overwhelm it, to dominate it. His approach, however, is completely different, he does not have his land, does not use any chemical, biological or biodynamic vineyards, grapes are harvested for perfect ripeness and fermentations take place in terracotta pots of various lava stone. Its vineyards are micro-farmed farmed forests with the sapling system, located in different districts at an altitude ranging between 600 and 900 m.s.l.m. Frank cultivates not only the typical vineyards of Etna such as Nerello Mascalese and Cappuccio but also old vines that have almost disappeared like Grecanico, Francis and La Minnella Bianca e Nera. His wines are authentic expressions of the eternal terror and as he says, "Wines before being good must be true."
