Calvados barrel-aged Cider by berryland is a blend of the best ciders of 2018. It is aged for 6 months in barrels previously used for the production of Calvados. The French oak barrels are imported directly from a distillery in Normandy that give elegance and structure to the taste of cider, in which we also find light notes of vanilla and wood.

Service

Cider should be served at a temperature between 6 and 12 ° C (A cider served too cold will not develop its aromas, a cider that is too hot is neither appreciable nor refreshing) in a tulip glass.

Pairing

Cider is excellent throughout the meal, as an aperitif, to try paired with pizza and cheeses.

Winery: Berryland

The Berryland company was founded in 2017 and is located in Ukraine in the picturesque village of Makarivska Buda, on the border with the regions of Kiev and Zhytomyr. The name of the company derives from the many berries produced by the vegetation that grows and surrounds the entire town: hence the name Berryland, "land of berries". The winemaker and owner of Berryland, Vitalii Karvyha, has a mission: to spread the philosophy and tradition of Ukrainian drinks through his ciders. Vitalii produces a line of apple, pear and mead ciders that change according to the harvests, subject to the trend of the vintages: in 2018, in fact, 12 types were produced, while in 2019 only 7, for a total of about 50 thousand bottles. Ciders are drinks with a moderate alcohol content (about 7-7.5% Vol) very popular in Ukraine. The Berryland company tries to preserve the natural and original taste of fruit and berries by avoiding chemical interventions. Even hives suitable for the production of mead are not treated with antibiotics. The orchards are all owned by the company and the varieties of apples grown are: Calvilla, Mc Intosh, Breedon Pippin, Antonovka, Aport, Renetta, Sharopay, Mela Limone and Spartan.
