Abruzzo

Abruzzo is a wine region located in Central Italy. You can not talk about Abruzzo without mentioning Montepulciano and the Trebbiano d'Abruzzo, which is the most cultivated white grape cultivar in Italy, and here it reaches the highest quality peaks. The other cultivated vineyards are Pecorino, Passerina (Abruzzo divides with the Marche the paternity of this vine), Montoncello, Cococciola, which in recent years have been joined by international vines such as Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, The Merlot and the Chardonnay. Abruzzo is a predominantly mountainous region and viticulture extends above all in the hilly region that slopes down to the Adriatic Sea. Spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts only and aging for two years in steel, two years in oak barrels and six months in bottle. The Cocciapazza Montepulciano d'Abruzzo from Torre dei Beati and a balanced wine that fully reflects the territory of Loreto Aprutino. It comes from grapes of Montepulciano that come from 40 year old vines located at the foot of the Gran Sasso on clayey-limestone soils. It has a very intense and dense ruby ​​red color, with purple reflections in youth. The characteristic red Montepulciano fruit, particularly broad and mature, is in perfect balance with the rich spiciness of black pepper and licorice, and embellished with typical balsamic notes, of chocolate and tobacco. Excellent structure and volume in the mouth, characterized by well-present tannins, but soft and evolved, of great maturity. Fat and caressing in the finish, with very long persistence in the mouth.
