Caroline Pobitzer and Jan Hendrik Erbach, owners of Pian dell'Orino, have created a winemaking reality that stands out for the fusion of two cultures and approaches. Their story begins in Montalcino, where Caroline, originally from Alto Adige, started her winery, while Jan, a German agronomist and oenologist, provided her with valuable advice as a consultant. Today, united not only in business but also in life, they form a truly special couple, characterized by strong passion and determination. Their company extends over 6 hectares, where Mediterranean passion combines with Teutonic precision. Every aspect of production, from the land to the vineyard, from the biodynamic management to the cellar itself, is taken care of down to the smallest detail. This holistic approach allows Sangiovese, the only cultivated grape variety, to best express its potential. The wines of Pian dell'Orino immediately present themselves with a fleshy and savory structure, but are able to evolve to reach a silky complexity, reserved for those who have the patience and foresight to wait for the right moment to taste them.
