LUMBARDY
Gianluigi Ravarini is one of the rare testimonies that demonstrates how agriculture and viticulture in Franciacorta was an art experienced both personally and by the community, as a passion and support for the family. The farm was born in 1971 thanks to the father, Bortolo who cultivated about 1.5 hectares planted with vines. These are the years in which the first entrepreneurial movements began which changed the economic balance of Franciacorta. In 2002, Gianluigi, after various experiences in other wineries, began his journey as a winemaker, regaining possession of the expression he wants to convey of his territory, the Monticelli wine. Today, Gianluigi personally oversees 6 hectares of natural cultivation including 4 with vines and 2 between olive groves and woods, where he gets the posts for his vineyards. He also believes that the small area of Monticelli, which ranges from morainic and alluvial origins rich in minerals, clays, limestone, streams and winds, stands out well from the rest of Franciacorta and to best express these differences, he chooses to produce in a natural way using just steel and concrete. Each of his wines is entirely the result of a vintage, and is produced with spontaneous fermentations, without dosages and with a minimum aging on the lees of 30/40 months. A satisfaction, to find a Franciacorta reality that, without fear and without following market rules, freely experiments with the territory and the vine, hoping to transmit passion and lived agricultural culture.
