Producer Simone Pulcini
LAZIO
Simone Pulcini is a young winemaker who has always been involved in viticulture and wine. He takes his first steps in the vineyard with red boots number 28, with the elegant task of picking up every grape that fell to the ground the night before. Slowly he formed and at the age of 10 he had his first pair of personal scissors, with a rounded tip and to be used strictly for collection in boxes. As he grows, he advances in role, and is used to load the boxes that the others have already filled on the trolley. The turning point came in the years of high school, where he began his studies as an agricultural expert with specialization in viticulture and enology. After compulsory schooling, he continues his studies at the University of Pisa by enrolling in the course of Oenology and Viticulture. During his studies he tried to put into practice what he was studying, doing internships around Italy and continuing to follow the family vineyards more and more personally. In post-graduate studies, a project from the Lazio region gives him the opportunity to further train, learning new techniques. Here, he understands the importance of promoting natural soil management, collaborating with organic and biodynamic farms. Back home, he begins a redevelopment project of the territory: taking abandoned vineyards and bringing them back to production. In the 2020 harvest a new challenge starts, that of starting to vinify the family grapes. The rule is one: everything starts with the sweat of each vintage, namely the grapes. To date his boots are yellow and I don't know how many other colors he will change yet. I just know that wearing them still gives him the liveliness he had as a child.
