Producer Clot de les Soleres

SPAIN, CATALONIA

Clot de les Soleres takes its name from a parcel belonging to the centuries-old Heretat Ferrer de la Vall winery. The project, which was born in 2008 at the behest of Carles and Montse, aims to revalue an area that has always been suited but devoted above all to the sale of grapes to large quarry producers. Low yield, biodynamics and completely natural philosophy are the dogmas used to restore dignity to a territory annihilated and exploited by the commercial logic imposed by the 70s, 80s and 90s. The grapes, which are grown without any type of herbicide, plant protection product or chemical fertilizer, are mainly the traditional ones of Catalonia (xarel-lo, macabeu and granatxa), the vinifications are carried out without the use of additives and give life to wines with a very strong territorial imprint. The "ancestral casual" method is very interesting, which consists in bottling the wine with still some residual sugar in order to give life to wines with an ever new and always different effervescence and character when fermentation starts naturally.
