Producer Val di Buri
TUSCANY
The Val di Buri project was born in 2018 when Giacomo and Marina they start to manage some old vineyards in the province of Pistoia, between Casalguidi, Sant’alessio and Baggio, where they still live e they make wine. In these places viticulture has always had a scarce economic value, in favor of the nursery sector and the vine was abandoned or held with little interest. What Giacomo and Marina they are doing is recovering the vineyards and producing wines that are the antithesis of the industrial philosophy that permeates this area, where the nurseries have sucked up space and vitality from these places. Their vines are between 40 and 60 years old, and are between 60 and 550 years old meters above sea level; the varieties are native to Tuscany: Trebbiano, Sangiovese, Canaiolo, Ciliegiolo, Mammolo and Malvasia. In vineyard no synthetic products are used, but only biodynamic preparations, decoctions, herbal teas and small quantities of copper and sulfur; in the cellar nothing is removed or added to the musts, if not low dosages of sulfur.
