Ariousios Winery is a Greek winery that was born in 1998 in Grigoros, on the island of Chios. The two founders are Dimitri and Panagiotis Kefalas, who previously produced the island's wine for family use only. In 2009 with the restructuring of the cellar, the company is preparing for winemaking and marketing also outside Greece. The aim of Ariousios is to produce natural wines starting from the native vines that are bred with care and passion. The company breeds Asyrtico, Chian krasero, Ayiannitis and Athiri, which enjoy the proximity to the Aegean Sea and its beneficial breeze, the wonderful Greek sun, the mild climate, and the heights and Chios exhibition, all factors that help to give pleasant and fragrant wines. In the cellar we try to intervene as little as possible with spontaneous fermentations, and refinements in stainless steel and tonneaux, which favor the birth of an intense and intact wine, of great purity and essentiality. Ariousios wines are endowed with a strong personality, and characterized by a remarkable territoriality. The company produces around 150,000 bottles a year directed to the markets of the United States, the United Kingdom and Italy, where it has entered the Triple A catalog.
