Producer Leonardo Bussoletti
UMBRIA
The company of Leonardo Bussoletti is located in Narni, in the province of Terni, in an area particularly suited to viticulture. Leonardo leads, together with the agronomist Federico Curtaz, 7 hectares of vineyards, located between Narni, San Gemini, Penna in Teverina and Attigliano, which are cultivated in Grechetto and Trebbiano but above all in Ciliegiolo. The Ciliegiolo, in the past was a particularly widespread grape, then partly lost and rediscovered in recent years, thanks to Leonardo Bussoletti, who was among the first to have believed in this vine certainly not easy for what concerns the management and vinification, so much so that over time it has become a point of reference for the production of Ciliegiolo based red wines. The land where the cherry-tree and the Grechetto are grown are of clayey and calcareous origin, while those where we find the Trebbiano, are medium-structured soils. It cultivates its vineyards in a biological way and in the cellar prefers spontaneous fermentations, without selected yeasts. There are several wines produced by Leonardo Bussoletti, among which the Ciliegiolo di Narni IGT "Vigna Vecchia" obtained with Ciliegiolo grapes coming from 40-year-old vines.
