Producer Centovigne

PIEDMONT

Centovigne is a young company with ancient roots in fact, the first documents that speak of this company date back to 1682. Centovigne is at the foot of Monte Rosa, in that part of Piedmont at the border of Lombardy called Alto Piedmont. This is Nebbiolo area, locally called Sapanna, which enters numerous denominations such as Boca DOC, Sizzano DOC, Gattinara and Ghemme DOCG. Behind Centovigne we find Alessandro and Magda that after finishing their studies in oenology, in 1999 they bought a small vineyard in Mottalciata. Over time, the good results gained include taking care of the vineyards that the elderly in the area could no longer handle. Alessandro and Magda in addition to the Nebbiolo cultivate Vespolina, Croatina, Rara and Erbaluce grapes, with biological methods, eliminating completely any chemical substance. In the cellar next to modern equipment, there are exposed bricks, soft lights and wooden barrels, in the refining area where the wines are put to rest before being bottled.
