Producer Chiara Torti
LUMBARDY
Pietro Torti winery is named after Chiara’s father, from whom she inherited it in 1990. We are in Montecalvo Versiggia, on the hills of Oltrepò Pavese — a place where vines have been grown for centuries, and where every row tells a story of time, work, and patience. The Oltrepò Pavese is Italy’s third-largest certified wine-producing area and the country’s leading region for Pinot Noir, accounting for around 75% of national production. It is also one of the world’s most important areas for sparkling wine production. Here, the estate cultivates 10 hectares of organically farmed vineyards, combining young vines with parcels over 40 years old, rooted in clay-rich soils that give depth and character to the wines. Croatina, Barbera, Pinot Noir, and Riesling are their voice — their way of expressing this land. With minimal intervention, respect for natural rhythms, short pruning, and natural cover crops, the estate allows the territory to speak directly through the glass. The result is intense whites and deep reds — wines that unite identity, elegance, and ageing potential. Because wine, above all, is memory, family, and a sense of belonging.
