Producer Stella Crinita
ARGENTINA
Stella Crinita, whose name in Latin means "comet star", represents an innovative and organic wine project, created by Joanna Foster and her husband Ernesto Catena. Their adventure began in 2006 with the biodynamic cultivation of vineyards in the Tikal Natural finca, located in Valle de Uco, Mendoza, Argentina. Here, at an altitude of 1,100 metres, the vineyards develop at the foot of the Andean Cordillera, in a region known for its ecological diversity and viticultural potential. The path towards sustainability and authenticity of the wines continues with the organic conversion in 2009 and the Demeter biodynamic certification in 2012.However, it is in 2017 that Stella Crinita transforms itself into a laboratory of oenological innovation, embracing an additive-free approach and promoting natural oenology. This period also marks the birth of the Radical Imagination project, which includes labels such as Campo del Cielo and Symbiosis, focusing on the synergies between soil and cosmos and the importance of soil fertility. But Stella Crinita is not just a winery; it is a true ecosystem of biodiversity, where fruit, vegetables are grown, and honey and kombucha are produced. The inclusion of fungiculture and animal husbandry, from which wool is obtained for biodynamic fabrics, highlights the integration between agriculture, viticulture and livestock farming. This holistic approach aims to create harmony and well-being, enhancing the richness of the Argentine territory. Ultimately, Stella Crinita represents an example of how the winemaking tradition can evolve, embracing sustainable and innovative practices to produce high quality wines that reflect the territory and the passion of its creators. Prosit!
