Producer Ferme de la Sansonnière

FRANCE, LOIRE

Mark Angeli, with his Corsican and Marseille roots, has managed to create a true corner of paradise at Domaine de la Sansonnière, located in the picturesque Loire region. Purchased in 1989, his approach to farming is a fusion of tradition and innovation, where respect for nature and terroir is at the heart of his philosophy. The choice to raise Breton "pois noire" cows to produce quality manure and the use of solar energy for his farming operations demonstrate his commitment to sustainability. Since 2003, Angeli has adopted more natural cultivation methods, avoiding total plowing of the vineyards and preferring practices such as tilling and managing the grass between the rows. This management of the viticultural ecosystem, together with the collaboration with Stéphane Bernaudeau, reflects a biodynamic and biodiversity-friendly approach. The winemaking process is equally meticulous and traditional. The carefully selected grapes are pressed in vertical presses, ensuring delicate extraction of the juice. The absence of destemming and filtration, together with long fermentations in amphorae or oak barrels, allows us to obtain pure and authentic wines, which fully express the character of the territory. Among Angeli's most popular labels stand out "La lune Amphore", "Les Vieilles Vignes Des Blanderies" and "Les Gelinettes", wines that not only capture the essence of the Loire, but also tell the story of a producer who was able to combine passion, tradition and respect for the environment. In this way, Mark Angeli has established himself as one of the best producers in the region, carrying forward a vision of viticulture that looks to the future without forgetting the roots of the past.
