Granada

Granada is a beautiful city located in Andalusia, which due to its climate and geography, is a land very prone to viticulture. A territory known above all for the sherry, Malaga and Jerez brandy, but lately, thanks to the work of some excellent vignerons, even the wines have achieved excellent qualities, just like those of Granada that have their own Designation of Origin. In the province of Granada we find over 60 wineries that cultivate about 5,500 hectares of vineyards with which they produce between 30 and 40 million pounds of grapes per year. Among the white grape varieties we find Vijiriego, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Moscatel de Alejandría, Moscatel de grano menudo or morisca, Pedro Ximenez, Palomino, Baladí Verdejo and Torrontés, while among those with red grapes are Tempranillo, Garnacha Tinta, Cabernet Sauvignon , Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Syrah, Pinot Noir, Monastrell, Romé and Petit Verdot.
