Sweden
It may seem strange, but even in Sweden it is produced, in fact, an hour and a half south of Stockholm, in central Sweden, we find Göran Amnegård that together with about fifteen the producers challenge the climate, once very rigid but increasingly hot with the ongoing climate change. The grapes grown are Vidal which occupies 80% of the production and a small part of Chardonnay, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. The most produced wine is the Icewine, produced with Vidal grapes and harvested when the thermometer column marks seven degrees below zero in order to be able to separate the water from the sugar obtaining a sweet wine. But above all, Roman Sweden is a big wine importer. In 2018 it imported 2.1 million hectoliters, with France as the main owner followed by Italy.
