La Castilla La-Mancha is located in the middle of the Iberian Peninsula and is the most extensive wine growing area in the world. Its territory borders to the north with Castile y Leon and Madrid, to the east with Aragon and the Valencian Community, to the south with Murcia and Andalusia, and to the west with the Extremadura. Inside there are 9 names: Castile - La Mancha Almansa, La Mancha, Manchuela, Méntrida, Mondéjar, Uclés, Valdepeñas, Ribera del Júcar, Madrid. The Airén white grape variety predominates, which perfectly adapts to the dry climate of Mancia, but we also find Macabeo, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Verdejo, Moscato de wheat menudo, Pedro Ximénez, Parellada, Torrontés, Gewürztraminer, Riesling y Viognier. With Airen you get fruity wines with moderate acidity. But it is with the reds that La Mancha is harvesting the best fruits thanks to the Cencibel variety, a local name that identifies the Tempranillo. Other red berried vines are the Garnacha, Moravia, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Merlot, Petit Verdot, and Graciano. Among the best wineries: Bodegas Finca Rio Negro, La Maldicion, Bodegas Bernabeleva.
