Ribera del duero
In Castilla-y-Leòn along the Douro from San Estebàn de Gormaz to Valbuena de Duero the denomination Ribeira del Duero is developed. which extends for a length of 115 km and a width of 35 km on both sides of the river Duero. The area is divided between 4 provinces, each of which has a different terrain and its own microclimate. A district that has established itself thanks to the Tinto up as it is called in the area the Tempranillo that here, has reached levels of absolute quality, thanks to the work done by the winemakers who have put themselves in search of an appropriate interpretation of the vines, where the grapes sometimes they mature at very different rates. The white grape variety mainly used is Verdejo, which yields fruity and good acidity wines, suitable for aging in cask, while in the plain of Vecchia Castiglia, north of Segovia and Avilla, prestigious red wines are produced as 'Unique of Vega Sicilia.
