ALLA SCOPERTA DEL CILENTO

The Cilento is one of the richest areas of beautiful landscapes, where nature often appears wild. Here the vine, which was introduced by the ancient Greek colonizers, grows on clayey-calcareous soil, and is cultivated in numerous municipalities in the province of Salerno in the area that goes from the Sele plain to the borders with Basilicata. A single DOC, the Cilento, which is presented in the types; red, rosé, white, Aglianico and Fiano. The Cilento Rosso is mainly based on Aglianico with additions of Piedirosso and Primitivo. The Cilento Rosato is obtained with Sangiovese in most part to which is added a balance of Aglianico, Piedirosso and Primitivo. The Cilento Bianco rests on a base of Fiano, Trebbiano Toscano, Greco Bianco and Malvasia Bianco. Many producers have distinguished themselves in recent years; Luigi Maffini, Casebianche, Albamarina Farm, Alfonso Rotolo, Viticoltori De Conciliis and Tenuta Mainardi.
