Producer Château Cambon

FRANCE, BEAUJOLAIS

Chateau Cambon, located in Villié-Morgon in the Beaujolais region, is the chateau that was taken over by natural wine pioneers Marcel Lapierre and Jean-Claude Chanudet in the 1990s. Upon the death of Marcel Lapierre, the company continues to be managed by Jean-Claude supported by Marie Lapierre, Marcel's wife, always following the same respectful philosophy in the vineyard and in the cellar. After a few years Marie and Jean-Claude become aware that age is advancing and that it is necessary to give way to the new generations, so they concentrate on their respective cellars and decide to sell Chateau Cambon: after a long search they meet Alex Iwasuila, who after a few years of working alongside these wine giants of the region he becomes the new face of the Chateau. The lands of Chateau Cambon are divided into 19 hectares, originally planted in 1914 on three different parcels, composed of mixed heterogeneous soils, granite, clay and sandy limestone. From the three original parcels over the years the vineyards have expanded following the different compositions of the soils around the estate, the vinification of the grapes together gives life to wines capable of conveying the harmony and difference of the place. The cultivated vines are gamay, vinified according to tradition in semi-carbonic and whole bunch maceration, and chardonnay.
