Producer Domaine du Clos Naudin
FRANCE, LOIRA
Domaine Du Clos Naudin is located in Vouvray, a commune located in the heart of the Loire. Founded in 1910 by Armand Foreau with only his courage, passion and a few vineyards in Vouvray at his disposal. Subsequently, Armand's son André took the domaine to the top of the appellation. Today the Domaine has been managed, since 1982, by Andrè's son, Philippe, who together with his son Vincent, sign the best whites of the Loire. There are about 12 hectares of vineyards, all of Chenin Blanc, the main vine of the Loria. The vineyards, raised organically, have an average age of about 45 years, and are found on silica soils, which give smoky notes, and clayey ones, which give freshness and nervous tension to the wines. The harvest is manual, and in the cellar the wines are vinified with indigenous yeasts only, the malolactic fermentation is never carried out and two rackings are carried out before bottling. The annual production of still wine is around 50,000 bottles per year. The wines of Domaine Du Clos Naudin are mineral, of astonishing balance, and with magnificent aging potential
