Producer Giacomo Conterno

PIEDMONT

The Giacomo Conterno company is a symbol of the excellence of Italian wine known throughout the world, and its legendary Baroli have indelibly marked the history of Langhe wines. The history of the family begins way back in the 1800s, a time when the Conterno family was already producing wine in the Barolo area. But it was only at the beginning of the 1900s that Giacomo Conterno officially founded the winery in Monforte d'Alba, in the Ornati area, arriving at bottling the first labels in 1924. The inheritance was first handed down to his son Giovanni and later to his nephew Roberto, today leading the estate. Roberto continues to put into practice the traditional winemaking techniques of the area with the same respect for the tradition of his ancestors, producing long-lived and earthy wines. Attention is focused exclusively on the Nebbiolo and Barbera vines. A story, in short, which has not yet seen the end of the line, and which indeed continues in the sign of the highest Italian winemaking excellence and beyond.
