Producer Gian Antonio Posocco - Az. Agr. Terre Grosse

VENETO

Gian Antonio Posocco, after graduating in oenology in 1977, began working at some cooperative wineries in the area, but he soon realized that that world was not for him. He enrolls in letters with a philosophical address, where according to his words he enjoys himself very much. In the following years he marries, and he has land as a dowry where he begins to try the biodynamics he was studying at the anthroposophical center of Conegliano Veneto. In 1992 he founded an organic agricultural cooperative with people of various nationalities in the Tarzo area which he left in 1997 to join Ecor, now Ecor Naturasi, where the idea of proposing wine from organic farming matured. In 2001 he founded Assiria Vini Bio with about twenty companies from all over Italy, which later became Assiria Vini Naturali. In 2015 he managed to realize his dream of producing "his" prosecco with the collaboration of Gabriele Perenzin. For two years they produce it in a cellar in Valdobbiadene, but they are not satisfied with the result, in 2018 they produce the first Vincolfondo. Having problems making a cellar as requested by the authorities, he relies on the Terre Grosse winery, with which he shares a lot both on a theoretical and practical level, so much so that in 2021 they made their first wine together, putting their grapes together. Gian Antonio has a 40/50 year old vineyard in the Montaner di Sarmede area in a hilly area close to the Pre-Alps, and 2 small young vineyards of Sauvigner gris, a resistant vine, and one of Merlot on loan. The wines produced are Vincolfondo, Fataman bianco, Fermo glera, in the right years a Risso di Merlot, a Sauvigner gris and a Vincolfondo with Red grapes by Terre Grosse grapes. The latter in honor of the Raboso which in Venice was called Vin da Viajo, travel wine, because it was the only one that resisted on journeys by ship.
