Producer Davitha
SARDINIA
Davitha is located in northeastern Sardinia, at the foot of the granite massif of Mount Limbara which, from its 1300 meters above sea level, dominates the Gallura of which Tempio is the historic capital. The company was founded in 2014 by Francesco Mariotti with the idea of enhancing local viticulture by focusing on the rediscovery of the area's native vines and producing innovative wines, while remaining in the wake of the local winemaking tradition. The vineyards, which extend over a surface area of 2 hectares, are divided into multivarietal micro plots characterized by the presence of different vines, where the Caricagiola and Pascale Moscato stand out, but also Vermentino, Sardinian Barbera and various types of Bovale to which are added varieties also present in small parts that contribute to the particularity of the Tempiese vineyard. In 2020 the new cellar was inaugurated, which was designed to accommodate the production of Davitha and allow the harvested grapes to be processed in the best possible way and the wines to rest and refine for as long as necessary. Today Francesco produces 6 wines divided into 3 types: NATHAVI, wines designed to express the territory, where the vinification takes place with a very short contact with the skins which takes place exclusively in steel, DAVITHA, wines characterized by long macerations, and finally DNNA, wines produced with the Caricagiola and Moscato vines vinified in purity.
