Producer Gaspard Brochet

FRANCE, CHAMPAGNE

In 2014 Gaspard Brochet officially enters the family business founded by his grandfather Henri over 70 years earlier. Flanked by his father Vincent, with almost 40 harvests, Gaspard collects this important legacy by adding his own dose of creativity and sensitivity. In addition to redefining the entire corporate image of the "Champagne Vincent Brochet" family brand, Gaspard chooses to lay the foundations for its own line characterized by a fresh and captivating aesthetic. In addition to the purely aesthetic part, Gaspard immediately implements important choices both as regards the agricultural management and the cellar part, all in the name of environmental sustainability and the enhancement of the biodiversity of the Ecueil terroir. The Brochetes own a total of 5 hectares planted mainly with Pinot Noir (78%) and Chardonnay (18%) and a small part of Meunier (7%). The average age of the plants is around 30 years with a prevalent south-east exposure. In the vineyard, any chemical or synthetic products are banned, the soil worked mechanically and natural grassing is favored. In the cellar, the use of the pneumatic press preserves the freshness and quality of the grapes harvested. Following the fermentations are triggered naturally thanks to its own yeasts and, subsequently, the malo-lactic fermentations are chosen to interrupt them to enhance the freshness of the cuvee and the same reasoning applies to the dosages, minimum, in order to ensure expressiveness optimal of a great Pinot Noir and a great terroir.
