Yannick Meckert is the new talent from Alsace. After completing his degree in oenology in Beaune he starts working briefly for the family domain, but soon realizes that this was not the right place for him. He begins to travel and work for producers such as Philippe Pacalet, Patrick Meyer, Ostertag, Terada Honke (Sake in Japan), Charles Dufour and others, who will become a source of inspiration for him. Today Yannick owns two hectares in Alsace planted with Auxerrois, Pinot Noir, Pinot Grigio, Sylvaner, Riesling and Gewürztraminer, where the soils are mainly composed of volcanic sandstone and blue slate. In addition, he is co-owner of a small plot of Pinot Noir in Burgundy (Les Hautes Côtes). In his winery, located in the village of Rosheim, the vinification is the same for both Pinot Noir, Gewürztraminer and Pinot Grigio . Maceration for about a week in whole bunches and refinements for one or two years, without any added additives. The first ananta was 2020 and his style is energetic and multifaceted, and last but not least his pinot is among the tastiest from Alsace.
