Producer Burja

SLOVENIA

The Burja estate is located in Podraga in the Vipara Valley, two steps from the border with Italy. In fact, there are written evidence that the ancestors of the current owners, the Lavrenčič family, moved to the Valley of Vipava in 1499 and devoted themselves to agriculture and viticulture. Today, the estate is managed by Primož Lavrenčič, which cultivates 7 hectares of vineyards, resting on layers made of flysch layers and blown daily by the winds that sprout from the Alps. Over the years, Primož has been able to combine the wine tradition of the Vipava valley Modern oenological interpretation. It cultivated, in the biodynamic regime, only native vines such as Zelen, an ancient vine cultivated forever in this valley, Schioppettino, Refosco, Ribolla, Riesling Italic and Franconia. Are the labels produced divided in the selections; Overture, Petite Burja with grapes from young vines, Selection, Burja with the grapes of older vines and finally Primus whose grapes come from selected land and produced only in the best vintages.
