Producer Marie Et Vincent Tricot

FRANCE, LOIRE

Marie and Vincent Tricot embody a new generation of Winterranian vignerons that are bringing this corner of the Loire back to the forefront of the wine landscape. Born in Angiò, Vincent Tricot left the Loire and attended oenology school in Beaujolais in the early 1990s.After graduation, he remained in the region and apprenticed to Brouilly for winemaker Patrick Coton. During this time he met Marcel Lapierre and many other winemakers who were beginning to draw attention to their non-interventionist style of winemaking. Vincent was moved by their wines and quickly decided that this was the way for him. Vincent and Marie met while working for a large domaine in the Costières de Nîmes.Marie comes from a family of vignerons in Beaujolais. Together, in 2002, they moved with their two daughters to the village of Orcet in The Winter. The decision to come to the region was purely financial; they could afford to buy vineyard land in Alvergne. They bought 4.5 ha of certified organic vines and planted another 0.6 ha. In 2003 the family produced its first cuvee 'Les Marcottes'. They currently grow Gamay, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc and hope to plant more vines in the coming years. As a demonstration of the great love and respect that this couple has towards their territory, every week they organize on their property a market of artisan products of the area, including clearly their wines. We are talking about two real producers, bold and characterful, as well as the wines they produce.
