Producer Domaine Robert Denogent

FRANCE, BURGUNDY

Domaine Robert Denogent is located in Fuissè, on the border of the Macconais area in Burgundy. The winery was founded in 1988, on the initiative of Jean Jaques Robert, who, after graduating in law, decided to take over the 5 hectares of vineyard managed until then by his father who sold the grapes to the cooperatives locals. Jean Jacques begins a work of fragmentation of the vineyards so that each label expresses the characteristics of the land of origin. It was intended that Marcel Lapierre, a pupil of Jules Chauvet, would work not far from Fuissé, precisely in Morgon, in Beaujolais, beginning to change the history of French viticulture, spreading his sustainable viticulture and starting to influence many winemakers with the idea of producing natural wines. Jean Jaques was immediately fascinated by it and gave life to a process of rehabilitation of his vines without the use of chemicals. The grapes are placed on soils rich in granite and sand, harvested exclusively by hand and vinified with the classic Burgundian practices and with the sole use of native yeasts that give rise to spontaneous fermentations. Malolactic fermentation takes place in second or third passage barriques for up to 18 months on the fine lees. For several years, the sons of Jean Jaques, Nicolas and Antoine have also helped him take care of the approximately 14 hectares, where it is possible to find vines between 50 and 70 years. The wines of Domaine Robert Denogent are rich complex, and at the same time fresh and elegant, and offer all the complexity, authenticity and intensity of this wonderful territory.
