Producer Tre Mat
VENETO
The Tre Mat farm is located in Santo Stefano, in a very small hamlet of Valdobbiadene, in the province of Treviso. It was founded in 2009 by Gianni Bortolin, and in 2010 the first bottles with the Tre Mat brand came out. The name is inspired by the fact that Gianni, who comes from a family that has always cultivated the vine, is often considered "three times crazy" by other producers and colleagues: mad to make the sparkling wine with three months of storage in autoclave, crazy to clone the vines, mad to harvest in September, to autoclave the wine in March, going on the market in July and not in December. Gianni decided to found the company driven by the desire to produce a wine that reflects tradition and respect for the vine. The vineyards, especially the one from which the grapes used for the "Finalized" originate, are in a steep and uncomfortable position that are processed manually without the use of mechanized processes. Today Gianni, helped by the agronomist Giovanni Pascarella, produces three wines: the "Tre Mat" Valdobbiadene Finalized obtained from 4 vines, namely verdisio, perera, bianchetta and glera, the Prosecco Extra Dry DOP "Tre Mat" which is produced from grapes of Perera and Glera, and finally the Sparkling White Wine "Vinell", which is produced from grapes from the historic vineyard of the company, left to macerate on its skins for 4 days, with first fermentation in wooden barrels, while the second fermentation it takes place in the bottle.
