The Tiago Teles winery is located in the area of ​​S. Mateus, a Portuguese municipality overlooking the Atlantic halfway between Lisbon and Porto, in the heart of the Bairrada appellation, famous for the production of red wines based on baga grapes. Tiago, a great wine enthusiast and famous wine critic, in 2012 made his dream of owning vines a success and finding himself through wine. Together with his father he buys vines and starts a wine project that aims to produce authentic and uncontaminated wine, starting mainly from native vines. Vines like the Tinta Barroca, the Castelão, the Alfrochiero and the Laureiro, are bred following the method of integrated cultivation, in full respect of the biodiversity of the region. In the cellar it aims to intervene as little as possible, keeping aside all that could distort the true expression of the grapes, endure an open mind and new methods of winemaking. Tiago aims to create pleasure wines that are divided into the reds "Gilda" and "Maria de Graca" involving a dominant base of Castelão and Alfrocheiro that are born in the Bairrada, and in the white "Raiz" a base of Loureiro grapes that is produced in the area del Vinho Verde, where the other property of Tiago is located and where his mother was born.
