Producer Farnea

VENETO

The Farnea company is located in Teolo, a small village in the Padavoa province, in the Euganean Hills regional park. To guide her we find Marco Buratti, a young winemaker who, before becoming a vignerons, did a bit of everything; from local manager in Padua to chef in New Zealand, until, after having received an inheritance, he decides to go home to follow his true dream, that is to become a vigneron and produce wines that are like him, convivial, frank, sincere , crazy, to drink in buckets. Today Marco has five hectares of vines, some old, others new, which works completely by hand. Treatments reduced to a minimum, only small amounts of sulfur and copper when needed. The vinifications in his small cellar follow the same philosophy of minimal intervention, without the use of chemical substances but only a great deal of artisan knowledge to accompany the wines in their evolution. Wines that ferment in cement and refine in 600 liter barrels. He does not use the capsules on the bottles because as he likes to repeat: "not using them is my way not to dirty the world". The productions are very limited, only 8000 bottles even if he would like to reach 15000, and his wines are sought after all over the world. There are five wines: the Birbo, a white based Malvasia and tocai italico; Emma from pink muscat grapes; the Shadow, produced with merlot, cabernet sauvignon, plus other unidentified vines; Arietta, from pure merlot; and the Mai Domi, a bordolese blend with a variable structure of cabernet sauvignon and merlot.
