Producer Comando G

SPAIN,  CADALSO DE LOS VIDRIOS

Comando G was founded in 2008 as a project by Daniel Gomez Landi and Fernando Garcia, two friends since the time of studies in Enology and Viticulture at the University of Madrid and united by the same land, the Sierra de Gredos which is divided over the three provinces of Madrid, Avila and Toledo. It is on these heights to 900 m.s.l.m, in the valleys of the River Tietar and the Alberche, which Daniel and Fernando began to buy and rent the best land for the purpose of demonstrate how much the underrated local garnacha variety could to be elegant and refined. Their philosophy is to make wines of "pueblos, parajes, parcelas "that is, making a parallel with Burgundy, produce wines with a municipal name (Village), district (1er Cru) and parcella (Grand Cru). The vineyards are located in mountainous areas sometimes very impervious and difficult to reach, and are conducted in biodynamic, you work with the horse and obviously you do not use it either pesticides or chemical pesticides. The vines have a medium age between 60 and 90 years and in some cases they are francs of foot. The soils are granitic with a sandy matrix due to disintegration of the mother rock. The complexity of the terroir combined with a work in non interventional cellar that favors the whole raspo and doses of sulfur dips very low or absent, give wines that intend to reflect belonging to the place and where, Daniel and Fernando, seek always freshness and minerality.
