Podere Sassi is a small organic farm located in the province of Rieti, in a fortunate position overlooking the surrounding valleys of the low Sabina on the border with Umbria. The company has a very pure, decisive, intransigent approach, aimed not to touch what is beautiful nature does by itself much better than men. Their philosophy is to banish pesticides and any other artificial intervention in the vineyard and in the cellar. A huge passion for real wine, the one with character and personality has led to the collaboration with Danilo Marcucci (Conestabile Della Staffa) for the creation of wines that represent the land where they are born. At about 300 meters above sea level there are 3 hectares of autochthonous vineyards, such as Ciliegiolo, which here historically finds its perfect habitat, Sangiovese, Montepulciano, Malvasia del Lazio and Trebbiano giallo. In the cellar it is vinified without added yeasts and without temperature control, it is not added sulphurous and no filtration is practiced. The wines produced are 4; the "Courage", based on Trebbiano and Malvasia, "A riveder le stelle" 2017 produced with Ciliegiolo in purity and aging in carboy, the "Take me away" from Ciliegiolo grapes in purity with aging in steel, and "I sogni" a blend of Sangiovese and Montepulciano.
