Producer Specogna

FRIULI VENEZIA GIULIA

The Specogna farm is located in Rocca Bernarda, a fraction of Corno di Rosazzo, in the splendid territory of the Colli Orientali del Friuli. Area extraordinarily suited to viticulture, where we find reliefs of altitude between 100 and 350 meters that rest on land composed of alternating layers of marl and sandstone called Ponka. The company was founded by Leonardo Specogna and his wife Alma in 1963, when, after some years as emigrants in Switzerland, they decided to return to Friuli and bought a small plot of land. Initially the company was involved in dairy production, cereal and viticulture for self-consumption. Later, with the arrival of Graziano and his wife Anna Maria, it was decided to improve the techniques of vineyard management and wine making, to specialize in the production of vine-wine. Today in the company we find the third generation of winemakers, Cristian and Michele, which in addition to ensuring an expansion of sales on the most prestigious international markets, have created the Toblar winery. Specogna today extends over 22 of vineyards, cultivated with autochthonous grapes of the Colli Orientali or with international vines, which for centuries are present in Friuli, we find the Friulano (better known as Tocai), the Pinot Grigio, the Sauvignon, the Picolit and the Verduzzo for the white berried grapes and Merlot, Refosco, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Pignolo for those with black berries. The wines of Specogna are the essence of bottled Friuli.
