Producer Les Capriades
FRANCE, LOIRE
Les Capriades is located in Faverolles-sur-Cher, in the heart of the Touraine appellation. Here the soils are of clayey origin with calcareous subsoil, and this naturally helps the wines to reach an excellent balance between acidity and flavor. Les Capriades was founded in 2003 by Pascal Potaire, a former enotecario, and for many years a collaborator of established winemakers from the Loire. In 2011 he was joined by his friend Moses Gadouche with a view to creating a nod dedicated to the wines of the Loire alone. The two cultivate 7 hectares of vineyards cultivated with Chenin, Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Franc, Gamay and much more, and buy part of their grapes, from a handful of local organic farmers around Faverolles, but always grapes from certified organic farming with, in some cases, biodynamic options. At Les Capriades the wines are made without chemical, with fermentations in steel tanks and refermentations in the bottle, exploiting the principle of the ancestral method for sparkling wine. Two wines produced; the Piège à filles "blanc based Chenin blanc, Menu Pineau, Chardonnay, and the" Piège à filles "rosé made from grapes of Gamay, Cot, Grolleau. Les Capriades wines are authentic, frank and frank.
