Producer Paride Iaretti

Paride Iaretti is one of the youngest and most promising producers of Gattinara, a beautiful area located in the high Piedmont region between Biella and Vercelli. Here the reference variety is Nebbiolo which gives wines which, in contrast to those of the Langhe, are more mineral and ferrous due to the volcanic and iron-rich soil. But we also find Vespolina, with its characteristic white pepper scent, Croatina, Uva Rara and Arneis. The Paride Iaretti winery was founded by his father Pietro who, in his spare time, after his work as a traffic policeman, cultivated the vineyard to sell the grapes to the local cooperative and vinify a small part which he then sold as bulk wine. Paride with a diploma as a cook at the hotel school in Varallo Pombia, in 1999 when his father Pietro decided to sell the vineyard he did not think twice about leaving his job at the supermarket and starting the winemaker life. Paris renovates the old house and, in the basement three meters below the ground, makes its cellar. He buys other vineyards to give more solidity to the company, and today he cultivates four hectares of which three are registered in the DOCG Gattinara.
