Producer Domaine La Croix Montjoie

The Domaine La Croix Montjoie is a recently established winery, which was founded in 2009 by both Sophie and Matthieu Woillez, both agronomists and oenologists, with a common will to embark on a new adventure of adventure, passion and dream. The Domaine takes its name from the cross at the crossroads of Vézelay and Tharoiseau. Sophie and Matthieu cultivate ten acres of vineyards planted at Chardonnay located in the commune of Tharoiseau while the cellar is located where once was the farm of the old castle of Tharoiseau. The vineyards are located on a hill with a south / southeast exposure, which allows perfect ripening of the grapes, and grow on clay-calcareous soils. Although there are no climates, the ability of Sophie and MAtthieu has been to create different cuvees through a maniacal attention of the vineyard and selecting the grapes according to their degree of maturation and the age of the vineyard. With these arrangements they get Three Cuvée of Bourgogne Vézelay and a Crémant de Bourgogne also, from a small 0,17-ha Pinot Noir vineyard get their Irancy. Domaine La Croix Montjoie wines are nice and in a few years they have been able to conquer the enthusiasts.
