Producer Cascina Garitina

Established in 1900, Garitina Cascina is a working farm family, now in its fourth generation with Gianluca Morino, the current owner. The farm activities is to optimize the Barbera, the vine that covers the majority of our vineyards and to whom the land is reserved with the best exposure. In particular, the oldest vines (1939, 1951 and 1969) are dedicated to the production of Nice, Barbera produced in accordance with specifications specific and very restrictive, only the hills of the 18 municipalities surrounding Nizza Monferrato, suitable area and original birthplace the barbera. In deference to 1900, the year the company was founded, our Nice is called Neuvsent (Piedmontese translation of the word twentieth century). Their vineyards are located in the heart of Monferrato, and cover an area of about 26 hectares, divided between Barbera, Brachetto, Dolcetto, Pinot Noir, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Over the years they have been working on a continuous improvement of vineyard management, trying to combine the experience of the past with modern production techniques, to obtain whole grapes and wines that would mirror our territory. The passion for the land, the family-run company, the manual cultivation of vineyards and the painstaking care of the cellar are just some aspects of daily commitment to the basis of the quality of their wines and provide the basis for an optimal evolution in the bottle .
